Manager, Forward Deployed Engineer – Data & Intelligence

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a highly motivated Manager, Data Engineering & AI Platforms to lead the development and modernization of enterprise Clinical Data and AI capabilities supporting Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and other R&D functions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering strategy and execution for Clinical Data Platforms across multiple functions.
• Design and implement enterprise‑scale Clinical Data Lakehouse solutions using Databricks and cloud technologies.
• Develop and operationalize AI/ML, Generative AI and Retrieval Augmented Generation solutions for clinical trial efficiency.
• Drive Agile product delivery, stakeholder engagement and architecture reviews.
• Build, develop and retain high‑performing Data Engineering and AI teams.
• Ensure compliance with GxP, HIPAA, GDPR and AI governance requirements.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platforms, Analytics or AI.
• 5+ years of people‑leadership experience managing global engineering teams.
• Proven track record delivering enterprise‑scale cloud data platforms and AI solutions in regulated industries.
• Experience collaborating with clinical scientists, biostatisticians and product teams.
