Manager - Direct Tax

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Manager – Direct Tax to support senior leadership on domestic and international tax engagements. The role involves preparing submissions, representing the business before tax authorities, and ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and file tax submissions, appeals, and other documents with relevant authorities.
• Represent the organization in tax authority meetings and audits.
• Manage departmental audits, litigations, and tax disputes.
• Advise on the applicability of tax provisions, recent amendments, and international tax regulations.
• Finalize income tax returns, tax audits, and statutory reporting.
• Conduct direct tax due‑diligence reviews and prepare detailed reports.
• Monitor key performance indicators and ensure periodic compliance.
• Develop training presentations on tax and regulatory updates for stakeholders.
• Identify and implement IT automation projects for tax processes.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of the Income Tax Act, 1961 and related rules.
• Experience with international tax regulations and transfer pricing.
• Ability to analyze judicial precedents and apply them to business scenarios.
• Practical exposure to tax technology tools is a plus.
