Maintenance Technician

About the role

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure smooth operation of machinery, equipment, and electrical systems at its Kancheepuram facility. You will work closely with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and electrical systems in line with company standards.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve electrical, mechanical, and control issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks to avoid machine failures and extend equipment life.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
• Support design, assembly, and wiring of control panels to meet industry standards.
• Modify and upgrade electrical panels and wiring as required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and work orders.
• Collaborate with other departments to plan and implement maintenance schedules and improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all maintenance activities.
• Provide technical support and training to junior maintenance staff.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Familiarity with safety standards, lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, and maintenance best practices.
