Maintenance Foreman – Water & Sewer

About the role

The Department of Public Works is seeking a Maintenance Foreman to lead the upkeep of water and sewer infrastructure. This position blends administrative, technical and supervisory duties to keep the Water Treatment Plant and Sewer Pumping Stations operating reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance of all water and sewer equipment.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective work on the treatment plant and pumping stations.
• Manage a crew of technicians, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Prepare reports for management and assist with budgeting for repairs and upgrades.

Required profile

• Experience in water‑treatment or sewer‑system maintenance.
• Proven ability to supervise field staff.
• Strong organizational and record‑keeping skills.
• Union membership eligibility (SEIU Local 888) preferred.
