Maintenance Engineer – Planning & Reliability

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer will lead the planning, design and implementation of maintenance programmes to maximise equipment availability and productivity in a manufacturing environment. You will work closely with production teams to ensure that maintenance activities align with operational schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate maintenance engineering work, reviewing mechanical and electrical specifications.
• Conduct engineering reviews of new equipment designs to assess reliability, maintainability and parts availability.
• Liaise with production staff to schedule repairs, safety inspections and the delivery of new plant.
• Participate in the installation, commissioning and start‑up of new machinery.
• Support statutory safety inspections and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Required profile

• Experienced professional (P2) with practical knowledge gained through advanced education and work experience.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision.
• Capable of handling difficult, non‑complex problems and influencing peers through clear explanations of policies and practices.
