Maintenance Engineer – Electrical & Mechanical Systems

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for day‑to‑day upkeep of plant equipment, ensuring reliable operation of both electrical and mechanical systems. The role involves supervising shift activities and coordinating preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead shift‑based maintenance activities and supervise the workshop team.
• Perform troubleshooting and repair of electrical distribution (LT/HT), power transformers, PLC, SCADA and VFD systems.
• Maintain and service electrical switchgear, earthing systems, and related protective devices.
• Diagnose and fix issues on EOT cranes, machine tools, SPMs, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, grinding, plasma cutting machines and air compressors.
• Implement breakdown, preventive and predictive maintenance strategies across the plant.

Required profile

• Technical analytical ability with strong communication skills.
• Experience working in a heavy engineering fabrication workshop is an advantage.
• Capability to manage shift supervision and coordinate maintenance tasks.

Required skills

• Knowledge of low‑voltage (LT) and high‑voltage (HT) electrical distribution systems.
• Understanding of power transformers, electrical switchgear and earthing principles.
• Hands‑on experience with PLC, SCADA and VFD technologies.
• Troubleshooting expertise for EOT cranes, machine tools, SPMs, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Maintenance of welding machines, grinding machines, plasma cutting machines and air compressors.
• Proficiency in breakdown, preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
