Machine Assistant – Production Line Support

About the role

Essity is seeking an experienced Machine Assistant to support the production of medical device products at its manufacturing plant in Ponda, Goa. You will work as part of a shift team, ensuring that machines and ancillary equipment operate smoothly and meet quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, set‑up, monitor and troubleshoot primary machines and supporting equipment such as printers.
• Perform tool changeovers on machines, except for tools requiring expert technical skills.
• Ensure material and resource availability for uninterrupted machine operation.
• Check product quality against specifications, reject or block non‑conforming items, and document all actions.
• Complete required documentation (BMR, in‑process inspection reports, loss data, failure registers, etc.).
• Handle rework of quarantined materials within the shift and clear them appropriately.
• Support investigations for CAPA, complaints, or any deviations within the scope of responsibility.
• Maintain Good Hygiene Practice (GHP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
• Communicate effectively with previous and next shifts and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• High School diploma plus ITI or equivalent technical training.
• Experience working in a blue‑collar, manufacturing environment, preferably with medical devices.
• Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and HSE standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.

Required skills
