Logistics Engineer – Material Planning & Procurement

About the role

We are looking for a Logistics Engineer who will own material planning, production control and procurement activities for our manufacturing operations. The role combines strategic sourcing, inventory management and coordination of inbound logistics to ensure seamless production flow.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and release monthly production plans.
• Control inventory of raw material, WIP and finished goods, steering towards targets.
• Maintain master data and MRP parameters in the planning system.
• Drive continuous improvement of MOQ, lead time, TPT and related KPIs.
• Forecast demand and plan based on sales input, ensuring alignment with customer delivery.
• Lead global sourcing initiatives for key raw materials, managing cost and quality.
• Set up supplier records, EDI/ASN and manage import‑export approvals and customs clearance.
• Coordinate transport, forwarder arrangements and ensure compliance.
• Oversee quality control of purchased parts and manage vendor order and delivery performance.
• Lead new product launches, establish contracts, and manage SOP and series deliveries.
• Reconcile subcontracted material deliveries and handle supply shortfalls or quality rejections.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of material planning, production planning & control (PPC) and procurement.
• Experience with inventory control, master data maintenance and MRP systems.
• Ability to improve MOQ, lead time and related KPIs.
• Proven capability in forecasting, demand planning and aligning with sales.
• Experience in global sourcing, supplier creation and customs processes.
• Familiarity with EDI/ASN, import‑export documentation and transport logistics.
• Understanding of quality control standards for purchased components.
• Ability to manage vendor performance, risk assessment and escalation in bottleneck situations.
