Logistic Coordinator – India

About the role

SBM Offshore is seeking a Logistic Coordinator to manage the end‑to‑end movement of equipment and commodities from manufacturers to construction sites or module yards. The role supports the company’s offshore oil, gas, and renewable energy projects by ensuring efficient, cost‑effective transportation using multi‑modal solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare freight cost estimates and support bid comparisons.
• Participate in project execution planning to define the most economical logistics approach.
• Evaluate suppliers’ transportation methods for commercial and schedule impact.
• Develop traffic instructions in coordination with freight forwarding agencies.
• Create project routing guides for routine and less‑than‑truckload (LTL) shipments.
• Provide shipping duration forecasts to scheduling teams.
• Communicate with transportation regulatory agencies and service providers.
• Draft scopes of work for RFQs related to transportation and logistics services.
• Arrange heavy‑duty rail car and motor vehicle equipment as required.
• Negotiate, prepare, and execute logistics agreements.

Required profile

• Experience in logistics coordination or supply chain management, preferably in the offshore or energy sector.
• Strong analytical skills for cost estimation and route planning.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, including suppliers, freight forwarders, and regulatory bodies.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on safety, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
