Linux System Administrator

About the role

The Linux System Administrator ensures the availability, scalability and reliability of technology platforms. Working closely with internal and external teams, you will design, implement and maintain Linux‑based infrastructure that meets current and future business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and guidance to IT teams on Linux platforms and contribute to project designs.
• Develop robust solutions that align with architectural standards, focusing on availability, capacity, security and performance.
• Monitor platform performance, investigate incidents, and implement work‑arounds to minimise business impact.
• Participate in service continuity planning, risk assessment and recovery procedures.
• Translate logical designs into physical implementations, create documentation, configuration standards and operation manuals.
• Conduct benchmark studies, evaluate emerging technologies and manage lifecycle of hardware and software.
• Perform installations, removals and updates of hardware/software components and maintain configuration records.
• Maintain application support processes, use management tools for issue investigation, performance statistics, backups and restores.
• Monitor service desk metrics and recommend corrective actions to improve service levels.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Linux system administration.
• Strong analytical skills for performance monitoring and incident resolution.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
