Linux Administrator

About the role

Ascendion is seeking a Linux Administrator to join its engineering team. You will be responsible for the operation, monitoring, and security of Linux servers that support Fortune 500 clients.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and manage Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE).
• Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot L2 incidents and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Configure and maintain services such as SSH, FTP, NFS, DNS, and DHCP.
• Perform server patching, upgrades, and system hardening.
• Automate routine tasks using Bash or Python scripting.
• Maintain logs and monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix).
• Handle file systems, LVM, RAID, and performance tuning.
• Support networking configurations (TCP/IP, DNS, routing) and backup/recovery operations.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience in Linux administration.
• Ability to work collaboratively with L1 support and other infrastructure teams.
• Proven problem‑solving skills for incident resolution and RCA.
