Linux Administrator – Data Centre & VMware Operations

About the role

We are looking for a Linux Administrator to manage and optimise our data‑centre infrastructure, including servers, storage and backup solutions. The role focuses on Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, large‑scale VMware platforms and VDI technologies, ensuring high availability and performance across the ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain data‑centre infrastructure, including servers, storage and backup systems.
• Manage large‑scale VMware environments and perform capacity planning for all data‑centre components.
• Implement and support VDI solutions such as Citrix, VMware Horizon and VMware Workspace.
• Coordinate with vendors for break‑fix activities, root‑cause analysis and proof‑of‑concept evaluations.
• Maintain daily checklists, follow system policies and procedures, and ensure security policies are applied.
• Monitor system and application performance using monitoring and automation tools.
• Perform software upgrades, patch management and remote management tasks.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Proactive learning attitude and capability to handle multiple technologies simultaneously.
• Experience coordinating with vendors for issue resolution and technology evaluations.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and deep understanding of the Linux kernel.
• Extensive experience managing large‑scale VMware infrastructure.
• Knowledge of system and application monitoring tools and automation frameworks.
• Proficiency with remote management tools for software upgrades and patch management.
• Experience with backup software integration and capacity planning.
• Familiarity with VDI solutions – Citrix, VMware Horizon, VMware Workspace.
• Basic understanding of Windows Server, DNS, Active Directory and Group Policies.
