Legal Officer – Property Development

About the role

The Legal Officer will take primary ownership of all legal matters related to our property‑development business. The immediate focus is to establish control over the legal process for active property sales while continuing to oversee contracts, compliance and legal risk across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the end‑to‑end legal process for active property sales, from buyer KYC and booking through agreement execution, payment documentation, registration and handover.
• Create and maintain standard sales‑transaction checklists, approved templates and a live transaction tracker, coordinating with sales, finance, buyers, advocates and registration authorities.
• Ensure completion of title and landowner documentation, agreements for sale, sale deeds, RERA records, approvals, registrations and external advocate follow‑up.
• Draft, review and control commercial agreements, NDAs, vendor and service contracts, leases and other standard legal templates across the group.
• Coordinate Companies Act, ROC and company‑secretarial actions with the appointed Company Secretary, maintaining statutory calendars and evidence of completion.
• Maintain central trackers for property transactions, contracts, licences, notices, disputes and compliance actions, providing management with clear risk and closure updates.

Required profile

• LL.B. from a recognised institution; State Bar enrolment is preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of legal experience, including at least 2 years of direct property transaction, conveyancing or real‑estate documentation work.
• Hands‑on experience with agreements for sale, sale deeds, buyer documentation, registration coordination, title records and applicable RERA processes.
• Strong drafting, transaction control, document review, legal judgement and stakeholder‑management capability; corporate/commercial exposure is advantageous.
• Good written and spoken English; Tamil is strongly preferred.
