Legal Counsel – Data Privacy

About the role

Boston Consulting Group is seeking a Data Privacy Counsel to join its Global Legal team. You will ensure privacy compliance across BCG’s Asia‑Pacific offices, working closely with legal, security, IT, and business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide assurance of privacy compliance with global and regional regulations, including Singapore PDPA, Australia Privacy Act, Hong Kong PDPO, Japan APPI, Thailand PDPA, Malaysia PDPA, and other local laws.
• Support Legal and Procurement teams in drafting and negotiating data‑privacy agreements with vendors and clients.
• Collaborate with Information Security and Compliance teams to review, write, and govern global privacy policies.
• Develop training materials and deliver global and local training sessions on privacy and security best practices.
• Research emerging data‑protection legislation and communicate findings to senior stakeholders.
• Facilitate Data Protection Impact Assessments as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years of experience in data privacy and compliance within a medium‑large tech or consultancy organization.
• Experience at a reputable law firm is preferred.
• J.D. or equivalent graduate degree in Law.
