Lead Structure Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Structure Engineer to head structural analysis and design for a variety of building projects in Chennai. The role involves delivering safe, code‑compliant solutions for residential, commercial and institutional structures while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of RCC and steel structures for building projects.
• Develop design solutions that meet Indian IS codes and project specifications.
• Conduct seismic analysis and design in accordance with IS 1893, IS 13920 and related standards.
• Prepare calculations, reports, drawings and specifications.
• Review and check designs prepared by junior engineers and external consultants.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, geotechnical teams and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Support international projects using Eurocodes or American standards (ACI, ASCE, AISC).
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best engineering practices.
• Assist in proposal and bid preparation, including technical documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in structural engineering within the building sector.
• Strong knowledge of Indian IS codes and experience with seismic design.
• Exposure to international projects and familiarity with Eurocodes or American standards.
• Experience working in global design centres in India is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to lead design teams and interact with clients.
