Lead Software Engineer – Platform Services (Back‑end Focus)

About the role

As a Lead Software Engineer, Platform Services (Back‑end Focus) you will serve as a senior technical leader and hands‑on individual contributor within the UI/UX organisation, with a strong emphasis on back‑end services, common platform capabilities, API design, and cloud‑native delivery. The role focuses on designing and implementing micro‑services, platform capabilities, and integration frameworks that support multiple Protegrity products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, scalable micro‑services for the next‑generation UI Shell Platform.
• Define long‑term service architecture, integration patterns, and technical standards across products.
• Develop production‑grade software in Python, JavaScript and TypeScript, emphasizing back‑end APIs, authentication, and authorization.
• Collaborate with front‑end engineers, DevOps, QA and product teams to deliver end‑to‑end user experiences.
• Promote reliability, observability and troubleshooting best practices for platform services.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on back‑end development, API design and micro‑services.
• Proven experience designing scalable platform architectures and cloud‑native applications.
• Strong computer‑science fundamentals and ability to make practical architecture trade‑offs.
• Experience working across front‑end and back‑end boundaries, including authentication, data flows and service dependencies.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, mentorship and ability to influence engineering direction.
