Lead Software Engineer (Backend Heavy) – Mumbai

About the role

Hudl is seeking a Lead Software Engineer with a strong backend focus to drive engineering initiatives for its global sports analytics platforms. You will design and build scalable tools and workflows that power products used by professional and grassroots teams worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Build and scale full‑stack features across Hudl’s sports technology platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering, QA, product, design, and scrum teams across multiple regions.
• Lead technical discussions, architecture decisions, and implementation planning.
• Solve complex, ambiguous technical problems with scalable solutions.
• Improve analyst training tools and operational workflows.
• Contribute to automation and AI/ML initiatives for operational efficiency.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across teams.
• Ensure performance, reliability, and scalability of applications and services.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of full‑stack software development experience.
• Current experience in a product‑based organization.
• Strong hands‑on background in C#, Node.js, Java or Python.
• Language‑agnostic mindset with ability to work across technologies.
• Experience designing and building scalable web applications, system design, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms.
• Proven track record leading large product or platform initiatives.
• Ability to mentor engineers and drive technical discussions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable with globally distributed teams.

• Salary range: INR 6,000,000 – 6,500,000 per year.
