Lead Engineer - Secondary Substation

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Engineer – Secondary Substation to join our Transmission & Distribution team in India. This role offers the chance to work on impactful energy projects across global offices while developing technical expertise in a supportive, high‑performing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialized technical input to studies and designs for secondary substation systems.
• Develop study and design procedures to ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective work.
• Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
• Prepare construction cost estimates and technical effort estimates.
• Perform quality‑control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
• Prepare technical specification sections and contribute to engineering budget and schedule.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent).
• 8‑12 years of experience, preferably leading large design teams for grid substation projects.
• Proven experience in HV plant design for large EHV grid substations.
• Background working with grid utilities or global consultancy firms.
• Experience preparing protection and control scheme drawings, relay coordination, panel GA drawings, SCADA and communication protocols.
• Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, ANSI and regional codes.
• Chartership with IET‑UK, EA or equivalent is desirable.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
