Lead Direct Taxation Specialist

About the role
We are seeking a Lead Direct Taxation professional to head our direct tax function. The role will oversee compliance, advisory and strategic tax activities across the organization, ensuring alignment with regulations and business objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for direct tax compliance, including tax audits, filing of returns and advance tax payments.
- Prepare and submit documentation for assessments and litigations at various levels.
- Provide transaction tax advisory, including TDS implications.
- Assist in preparing tax policy representations and support tax planning initiatives.
- Represent tax interests in M&A transactions to optimise business and tax outcomes.
- Advise on withholding tax (WHT) matters in customer and vendor agreements, negotiate terms and ensure implementation.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of post‑CA qualification experience in Direct Tax.
- Strong knowledge of Indian tax laws and international tax treaties.
- Proven experience handling tax audits, assessments and litigation.
