Lead DevOps Engineer

About the role

Monotype is seeking an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and scale its cloud infrastructure and DevOps platforms. You will work closely with engineering, security, product, and business teams to drive strategy, improve reliability, and optimize costs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and modernize scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and drive GitOps practices using tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
• Lead containerization and orchestration initiatives with Docker and Kubernetes, including upgrades and platform modernization.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or CloudFormation and enforce DevSecOps security standards.
• Establish monitoring, logging, alerting and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, ELK or OpenSearch.
• Drive cloud cost optimization using FinOps principles and define golden paths and reference architectures.
• Mentor and grow the DevOps team, lead incident response and root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, SRE or Platform Engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS, Azure or GCP and production‑grade Kubernetes.
• Proven track record of leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
