Lead Data Engineer (Bengaluru)

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to design and deliver robust, production‑grade data‑intensive applications that power critical business use cases at scale for Bosch’s automotive electronics division in Bengaluru.

Key responsibilities

• Translate high‑level business requirements into scalable, reliable data systems and services.
• Lead architectural decisions, select technology stacks and enforce engineering standards through code reviews.
• Design end‑to‑end data pipelines covering ingestion, processing, storage and serving.
• Build and maintain data products on Apache Spark and Databricks.
• Develop event‑driven, real‑time processing solutions using Apache Kafka and related technologies.
• Create backend services and APIs that expose data capabilities securely.
• Model analytical data structures (dimensional modeling, data vault) and optimise them for reporting workloads.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, gather requirements and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical field (Master’s preferred).
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of complex data solutions.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience delivering production‑grade data platforms.
