Lead Controller – Financial Reporting, Close & Audit

About the role

Relay Human Cloud is seeking a Lead Controller to own the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close and reporting processes. The role is hands‑on, requiring deep accounting expertise, rigorous attention to detail and the ability to coordinate across multiple legal entities and business units.

Key responsibilities

• Administer the close calendar, set deadlines, manage dependencies and escalation points.
• Coordinate close activities across all legal entities, business units and accounting resources.
• Review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, consolidations, inter‑company eliminations and supporting schedules.
• Ensure all material balance‑sheet accounts are reconciled, supported and reviewed each period.
• Identify and resolve unexplained balances, aged reconciling items, classification errors and duplicate entries.
• Maintain an audit‑ready electronic close binder and enforce discipline over period‑close procedures.
• Prepare and review consolidated balance sheets, income statements, cash‑flow statements and related schedules.
• Produce monthly management reporting packages with clear variance explanations.
• Monitor chart of accounts, financial‑statement mapping, consolidation structure and reporting hierarchy.

Required profile

• Experienced accounting professional with a proven track record in financial close and consolidation.
• Hands‑on approach with the ability to review detailed work and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Strong communication skills to interact with the CFO, accounting team and external auditors.
• Ability to maintain organized, audit‑ready documentation and meet strict reporting deadlines.
