Junior Structural Engineer (Structural Design)

About the role

AFRY is looking for a Junior Structural Engineer to join its collaborative expert team. You will work on diverse and demanding projects across various materials, using the latest design and analysis tools to deliver high‑quality, sustainable solutions. The role involves close cooperation with a Finnish team and requires developing Finnish language skills for design documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and verify structural calculations in accordance with Eurocodes and Finnish national standards.
• Perform and support 3D modeling as part of the design process.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, and models to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Take responsibility for the quality of structural designs and deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Fluent in English with 5–10 years of experience in structural design.
• Proficient use of RFEM, Tekla Structures, and AutoCAD.
• Experience working on projects in Nordic countries, especially industrial and public sector projects.
• Ability to work independently, strong sense of responsibility, and commitment to quality improvement.
