Junior Legal Counsel – Remote (India)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Junior Legal Counsel to join our in‑house legal team supporting a U.S. real‑estate platform. The role is fully remote from India and requires a U.S. law license, strong drafting abilities, and the capacity to turn legal analysis into clear, business‑friendly guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate real‑estate, corporate, commercial and operational documents such as purchase & sale agreements, NDAs, lease agreements and internal policies.
• Conduct legal research on affordable housing, landlord‑tenant disputes, land‑use, fair housing, data privacy and construction defects at federal and state levels.
• Support day‑to‑day legal needs of property and asset management, including rent‑stabilized leasing, tenant disputes, compliance and coordination with management teams.
• Prepare concise internal guidance on U.S. federal, state and local real‑estate law, including New York and California regulations.
• Assist pre‑litigation processes, organize documentation, track cases and coordinate with external counsel.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—acquisitions, finance, investor relations, construction, lending and IT/AI—to address legal issues.

Required profile

• Active license to practice law in the United States.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters efficiently.
• Excellent drafting, review and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to conduct practical legal research and provide clear guidance to non‑legal stakeholders.
• Hands‑on, in‑house mindset with a focus on delivering business‑oriented solutions.
