Junior Dialysis Technician

About the role

The Junior Dialysis Technician is responsible for setting up and operating haemodialysis equipment to deliver safe and effective treatment to patients with kidney failure. Working closely with the clinical team, the technician ensures that each session is prepared, monitored, and documented according to strict protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate haemodialysis machines, attaching dialyzers and tubing and priming extracorporeal circuits with 0.9% normal saline.
• Label dialyzers and blood lines with patient name and ID before first use.
• Prepare dialysis solutions and mix bicarbonate according to prescribed formulas.
• Explain the dialysis procedure and machine operation to patients to reduce anxiety.
• Connect the machine to the patient’s vascular access and initiate treatment.
• Continuously monitor the machine for malfunctions and intervene as needed.
• Maintain accurate log books, forms, and registers for each treatment session.

Required profile

• Certification or diploma in Dialysis, Renal Technology, Haemodialysis or related field.
• 2–4 years of hands‑on experience operating haemodialysis equipment.
• Positive attitude, teamwork orientation, and strong patient‑handling abilities.
