Junior Design Engineer – Plastic & Rotomoulding

About the role

BD Industries is seeking a Junior Design Engineer to join its plastic products division in Mumbai. You will work on custom rotomoulding projects, translating concepts from sketch to production‑ready designs. The role is office‑based and requires close collaboration with manufacturing and R&D teams.

Key responsibilities

• Study and interpret engineering drawings.
• Create 3D parametric models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Develop 2D installation, assembly and part drawings.
• Apply knowledge of rotomoulding, injection moulding and blow moulding processes.
• Document design processes and maintain GD&T standards.
• Select appropriate materials based on property requirements.
• Utilise measuring instruments for prototype verification.

Required profile

• Based in Mumbai (Chembur preferred).
• Engineering fundamentals with a focus on plastics.
• Basic understanding of plastic moulding techniques.
• Ability to work with 3D CAD and 2D drafting tools.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (3D parametric modelling).
• AutoCAD (2D drafting).
• Rotomoulding, injection moulding and blow moulding knowledge.
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Material properties analysis.
• Use of measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
