Junior Consultant – Vulnerability Assessment, Penetration Testing & Red Teaming

About the role

Clearwater is seeking a Junior Consultant to join its Cybersecurity consulting team. The role will support the delivery of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, application and infrastructure security reviews, and red‑team engagements for a variety of client environments. Candidates should have a solid foundation in networking, operating systems and offensive security methods, and be eager to develop their skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in performing vulnerability assessments and penetration tests on web applications, APIs, mobile apps, networks, cloud platforms and wireless environments.
• Conduct reconnaissance, enumeration, vulnerability identification and validation using both manual and automated techniques.
• Support exploitation and post‑exploitation activities within approved scopes and document findings.
• Participate in red‑team and adversary‑simulation engagements, including attack‑path identification, privilege escalation and lateral movement.
• Analyze scan results, differentiate true findings from false positives and produce professional reports with risk ratings and remediation guidance.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging threats, tools and methodologies, and contribute to internal knowledge bases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• 1–3 years of hands‑on experience or academic projects in vulnerability assessment, penetration testing or related security testing.
• Strong analytical mindset and willingness to continuously learn offensive security techniques.
