Junior Backend Software Engineer

About the role

Finominal is building a data‑driven platform for professional investors. As a Junior Backend Software Engineer you will work directly with the CTO on the core systems that power the service, gaining hands‑on experience with real financial data and production APIs.

Key responsibilities

• Improve the speed, safety and reliability of Finominal’s backend services.
• Enhance API performance, testing, monitoring and production stability.
• Identify security gaps, slow endpoints, database bottlenecks and resolve production issues before they affect users.
• Build dashboards, alerts and metrics using tools such as Sentry and Grafana.
• Leverage AI to automate internal engineering workflows and support AI‑driven product features.

Required profile

• Completed degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a closely related field.
• 0‑2 years of professional experience.
• Strong programming ability in Python.
• Good understanding of backend development, APIs, databases and basic web security.
• Willingness to work onsite at the Bangalore office every day.
