Junior Analyst - Financial Reporting

About the role

The Junior Analyst – Financial Reporting supports the preparation and filing of public company SEC reports, including Forms 10K, 10Q, and 8K. Working closely with accounting, FP&A, legal, and audit teams, the analyst ensures accurate, complete, and timely disclosures in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Draft public filings (10K, 10Q, press releases) using outputs from internal and external sources.
• Prepare and update financial statement footnotes and disclosure schedules in line with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Support responses to SEC comment letters and information requests.
• Build, reconcile, and validate financial data from the ERP system and cross‑departmental inputs into filing‑ready schedules.
• Perform data integrity checks and manage version control throughout review cycles.
• Serve as a primary contact for external auditors and risk consultants.
• Prepare and update SOX documentation, execute control testing plans, and collect evidence for internal accounting functions.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of public accounting reporting experience, preferably with a U.S. company.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (B.Com / BBA).
• Prior experience preparing financial statements.
• Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and current FASB bulletins.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines during quarter‑end and year‑end close.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency (reconciliation workflows, lookups, pivot tables).
• Experience extracting and reconciling data from an ERP system such as NetSuite.
• Working knowledge of SEC financial reporting concepts and disclosure requirements.
• Familiarity with XBRL concepts and SEC submission processes.
• Experience with disclosure software like Workiva or Active Disclosure.
