Internal Auditor

About the role

The Internal Auditor position offers a curious, detail‑oriented professional the chance to build a solid foundation in internal audit, controls, risk management, and business process improvement within a global manufacturing environment. You will support both global financial and Sarbanes‑Oxley audit activities while gaining exposure to business leaders, corporate functions, and operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support and eventually lead internal audit projects as part of Avient’s annual risk‑based audit plan, covering planning, scoping, execution, documentation, and reporting.
• Perform internal control assessments of global financial processes, identify key controls, evaluate design, test operating effectiveness, and document results.
• Execute Sarbanes‑Oxley audit procedures and assist management in assessing internal controls over financial reporting.
• Analyze financial, operational, and process data to spot trends, risks, control gaps, and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare clear audit workpapers, summaries, and reports that communicate findings and recommendations.
• Partner with process owners and corporate functions to validate findings and support remediation plans.
• Track management action plans to ensure timely resolution of audit recommendations.
• Contribute to ad‑hoc audits, advisory projects, data‑analytics initiatives, and due‑diligence activities for potential acquisitions.
