Intermediate SMSF Accountant (Remote)

About the role

Stake, an Australian investing platform, is seeking an Intermediate Self‑Managed Super Fund (SMSF) Accountant to join its growing finance team remotely from India. You will work closely with the Senior SMSF Accountant to deliver accurate financial statements and tax returns for a rapidly expanding portfolio of SMSF clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual financial statements and tax returns for SMSF customers.
• Onboard new SMSF clients and support their ongoing financial needs.
• Process accounting transactions including bank reconciliations, investment reconciliations, contributions, pension payments, rollovers and benefit payments.
• Handle corporate actions such as dividends, capital returns, mergers, demergers and share restructures.
• Manage complex transactions including limited recourse borrowing arrangements, cryptocurrency, foreign investments, derivatives and property investments where applicable.
• Maintain accurate workpapers, file notes and workflow updates throughout the preparation process.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in SMSF administration.
• Master’s degree in commerce or an MBA is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to work across cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Class accounting software.
