Instrumentation Engineer – Customer Services

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to join our Customer Services team on a contractual basis in Chhattisgarh. You will support maintenance activities across caster, rolling mill and tunnel furnace operations, providing technical expertise to supervisors, foremen and technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and coordinate day‑to‑day maintenance for caster, rolling mill and tunnel furnace equipment.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures and work instructions.
• Plan routine maintenance, schedule material and manpower, and monitor work‑in‑progress to meet specifications.
• Prepare daily progress reports, maintenance logs and documentation.
• Troubleshoot instrument and equipment malfunctions, replace parts, and perform calibrations.
• Communicate with external field devices such as IMCCs, VVVF drives, ACBs, relays, MFM, process displays, gas analyzers and Profibus encoders.
• Ensure compliance with safety systems and electrical work procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• 4–5 years of experience in maintenance of caster, rolling mill or tunnel furnace plants, preferably in a steel or metal plant.
• Proven ability to join within one month of the offer.

Required skills

• Field instruments: flow meters, orifice meters, analyzers, ultrasonic level transmitters, vortex flow meters.
• Instrument calibration of flow, pressure and temperature devices.
• Knowledge of IMCC, VVVF drives, ACB, relays, MFM, process parameter displays, gas analyzers and Profibus encoders.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault‑finding abilities.
• Familiarity with safety systems and electrical safety procedures.
• Proficiency in report preparation, Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
