Infrastructure Cloud and DevOps Engineer

About the role

Barclays is hiring an Infrastructure Cloud and DevOps Engineer in Pune, India, to lead the evolution of its infrastructure and deployment pipelines. The engineer builds and manages robust, scalable and secure digital infrastructure and works with data scientists and other stakeholders to build and deploy machine learning models. The role is permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems, using hardware, software, networks and cloud platforms, keeping them reliable, scalable and secure.
• Ensure reliability, availability and scalability through software engineering techniques, automation and best-practice incident response.
• Accountabilities: build engineering (development, delivery and maintenance of infrastructure solutions), incident management (monitoring, measuring and resolving issues), automation (scripted tasks and processes), security (secure configurations and protection against cyber threats) and teamwork with product managers, architects and other engineers.
• Stay informed of technology trends and contribute to the organisation's technology communities.

Required profile

• Experience with Helm, Kubernetes development, Terraform and observability and monitoring dashboards.
• Awareness of service mesh and OTEL implementations.
• Assessment may cover risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology skills.

Required skills

• AWS Cloud.
• Highly valued: Golang (preferred), Java or Python.
