Implementation Engineer III – Low‑Code Platform

About the role

OpenGov’s Professional Services team is looking for an Implementation Engineer III to design, configure, and enhance low‑code applications on the Government App Builder platform. You will translate customer business processes into scalable, automated solutions that modernize state and local government operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and configure applications using Government App Builder, including entities, forms, validations, permissions, dashboards and reports.
• Model structured data, define entity relationships, and ensure data quality through validations and migration support.
• Build and optimize approval workflows, routing logic, conditional triggers, and task assignments.
• Implement business rules with limited JavaScript scripting for complex validations and calculations.
• Configure and validate integrations with external ERP, financial, or other systems using REST APIs, file transfers, or event‑based patterns.
• Collaborate with project managers and implementation consultants to deliver solutions on time, troubleshoot issues during UAT and go‑live, and provide documentation for Customer Success teams.

Required profile

• 3–9 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years working with low‑code/no‑code platforms such as Appian, Microsoft Power Apps, Mendix or ServiceNow.
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (entity relationships, normalization, referential integrity) and workflow automation.
• Proficiency in JavaScript or a similar scripting language for implementing business rules.
• Experience designing integrations using REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, JWT and documenting them with Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
