ICU Staff Nurse – Critical Care

About the role

Provide continuous, comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including those with multisystem organ failure, sepsis, respiratory or cardiac instability, and neurological compromise.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed head‑to‑toe and focused assessments, analyze trends in vital signs, labs, arterial blood gases, and hemodynamic parameters.
• Identify acute changes in patient condition and initiate timely nursing and medical interventions.
• Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized nursing care plans based on clinical priorities.
• Manage and titrate high‑risk medications such as vasoactive drips, sedatives, analgesics, insulin, and anticoagulants.
• Provide care for patients on mechanical ventilation, non‑invasive ventilation, and advanced airway management.
• Monitor and manage invasive lines and devices including arterial lines, central venous catheters, PICC lines, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and urinary catheters.
• Assist with bedside procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, arterial line placement, bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, and paracentesis.
• Operate and troubleshoot critical‑care equipment including ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, CRRT, and point‑of‑care testing devices.
• Participate actively in Code Blue, Rapid Response, trauma, and other medical emergency situations.
• Communicate patient status, clinical changes, and care plans effectively during rounds, handoffs, and interdisciplinary meetings.

Required profile

• GNM General Nursing and Midwifery qualification.
• B.Sc. Nursing degree.

Required skills

• Ventilator operation and troubleshooting.
• Cardiac monitor management.
• Infusion pump operation and medication titration.
• CRRT (continuous renal replacement therapy) operation.
• Point‑of‑care testing device usage.
• Invasive line (arterial, central venous, PICC) management.
