HVDC Engineer – Substation Design (Full‑time)

About the role

Assystem is seeking an HVDC Engineer to join its Gurugram office. The role focuses on preparing, reviewing and executing primary engineering activities for HVDC substation projects, including layout design and BIM 3‑D modeling. The engineer will work closely with design leads, site execution teams and interdisciplinary departments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review substation layout designs and provide inputs to draftsmen for drawing production.
• Facilitate BIM 3‑D model development for substations and ensure coordination with modelling teams.
• Review and validate 2D/3D drawings, vendor offers and documentation against quality and specification requirements.
• Interact with site execution and cluster teams to clarify design aspects of equipment.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary checks (civil, structural, MEP, instrumentation) to obtain design concurrence.
• Perform pre‑tender engineering, estimate Bill of Materials and review tender quantities.
• Prepare design calculations for substation equipment such as busbars, UPS, DG, LT transformers, earthing conductors, short‑circuit forces and sag tension.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in HVDC substation projects.
• BE/B.Tech degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
