HVAC Design Engineer (Guindy, Chennai)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated HVAC Design Engineer to join our team in Guindy, Chennai. You will work on commercial, industrial, hospital and IT‑park projects, creating detailed HVAC layouts and ensuring design compliance with local and international codes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare HVAC layouts, ducting and piping drawings (shop and GFC) using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Perform cooling and heating load calculations with HAP/E20 following ASHRAE standards.
• Select equipment such as AHUs, FCUs, chillers, VRF/VRV units, pumps and fans.
• Prepare BOQs, technical submittals and material take‑offs for tender packages.
• Coordinate with project and site teams to resolve design clarifications and on‑site issues.
• Ensure compliance with NBC, ISHRAE, ASHRAE and other local regulations.
• Review vendor drawings and support the procurement process.

Required profile

• B.E/B.Tech Mechanical or Diploma Mechanical with HVAC certification; ISHRAE certification is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of HVAC design experience on commercial, hospital or IT‑park projects, with a portfolio of completed work.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP and HAP; knowledge of Navisworks or Trace 700 is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of psychrometrics, duct design, pipe sizing and static pressure calculations.
• Based in Chennai, preferably near Guindy, Velachery, Saidapet or Alandur.
