HVAC Design Engineer (Guindy, Chennai)

About the role

We are seeking an HVAC Design Engineer to join our team in Guindy, Chennai. The role involves creating detailed HVAC layouts and performing load calculations for commercial, industrial, hospital and IT‑park projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare HVAC layout, ducting and piping drawings (shop and GFC) using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Perform cooling and heating load calculations with HAP/E20 following ASHRAE guidelines.
• Select equipment such as AHUs, FCUs, chillers, VRF/VRV systems, pumps and fans.
• Develop BOQs, technical submittals and material take‑offs for tender packages.
• Coordinate with project and site teams to resolve design queries and site issues.
• Ensure designs comply with NBC, ISHRAE, ASHRAE and local codes.
• Review vendor drawings and support the procurement process.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with HVAC certification (ISHRAE a plus).
• Minimum 2 years of HVAC design experience on commercial, hospital or IT‑park projects, with a portfolio.
• Based in Chennai, preferably near Guindy, Velachery, Saidapet or Alandur.

Required skills

• HAP (mandatory)
• Navisworks or Trace 700 (optional)
• Strong knowledge of psychrometrics, duct design, pipe sizing and static pressure calculations.
