Humanities Teacher – Geography & History

About the role

Queen Elizabeth’s School, Gurugram is seeking an inspiring Humanities Teacher to deliver engaging Geography and History lessons within the Cambridge International Curriculum. The role focuses on developing critical thinking, cultural understanding and global awareness among students, preparing them for Checkpoint, IGCSE and A‑level examinations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver enquiry‑based, student‑led lessons in History, Geography and related social sciences.
• Integrate historical thinking, spatial reasoning, socio‑political context and environmental awareness into teaching.
• Design interdisciplinary units and collaborate with other departments on projects such as Model UN and sustainability initiatives.
• Prepare students for examinations through varied assessment strategies, including debates, simulations, case studies and fieldwork.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide timely feedback to students, parents and school leadership.
• Mentor extracurricular activities such as Geography Club, Debate and History Bee.

Required profile

• Passion for Humanities education and commitment to academic excellence.
• Willingness to undergo rigorous child protection screening and provide police clearance certificates.
• Ability to foster a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment.
• Experience teaching within the Cambridge International Curriculum or similar frameworks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GIS and other digital tools for spatial analysis.
