Human Resources Generalist – HR Operations & Talent Acquisition

About the role

Mercom India is seeking a full‑time Human Resources Generalist to lead daily HR operations, recruitment, onboarding and employee engagement in its Bengaluru office. The role supports a fast‑paced media, research and events environment within the clean‑energy communications sector.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate employee records, ensure statutory compliance and audit readiness.
• Administer payroll coordination, leave management and attendance systems.
• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, including sourcing, screening, interviewing and salary negotiations.
• Design and deliver a structured onboarding program with clear role expectations and cultural orientation.
• Implement quarterly and annual performance review cycles, partnering with managers to set KPIs and OKRs.
• Conduct training needs analysis and organise learning programs for editorial, research, events and business teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR operations, talent acquisition and employee engagement.
• Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws, wage standards and regulatory changes.
• Ability to develop and standardise interview frameworks and performance evaluation tools.
• Excellent organisational skills with a proactive and strategic mindset.
