HR Manager – India (Pune)

About the role

The Human Resources Manager will support JLG’s growing employee base in India, operating from Pune and reporting to the HR Director – International Region. This role serves as the primary local HR contact, implementing HR strategies and building sustainable HR processes as the organization expands.

Key responsibilities

• Promote, communicate and implement HR strategies, programs and initiatives for the India business.
• Act as the main HR liaison for employees and managers, providing guidance across the employee lifecycle.
• Develop, implement and maintain HR policies, procedures and employment practices aligned with Indian regulations and company standards.
• Monitor Indian employment and labor laws, ensuring compliance and advising management on statutory requirements.
• Handle employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, grievances, attendance, and exits.
• Coach and support managers on effective people management and development.
• Lead talent acquisition activities from role intake through sourcing, selection, offer and onboarding.

Required profile

• Broad HR generalist experience with a strong knowledge of Indian employment practices and labor law.
• Hands‑on experience in talent acquisition and onboarding in a fast‑growing environment.
• Ability to develop and administer HR policies and procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with employees and managers.
• Self‑starter capable of operating effectively where local HR processes are still evolving.
