HR Manager – Contract Labour & Factory Operations

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on HR professional to drive the people agenda for a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on contract labour management, workforce compliance, and factory HR operations. The role ensures the factory operates with the right workforce capacity, capability, and compliance standards by managing the end‑to‑end contract labour ecosystem while also supporting key HR business partnering activities for the site.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end contract labour operations, including onboarding, documentation, deployment and contractor performance reviews.
• Partner with production and supply‑chain teams to guarantee adequate manpower for manufacturing plans.
• Ensure compliance with labour laws, contract‑labour regulations, statutory requirements (PF, ESIC, licences, overtime, welfare).
• Maintain master rolls, statutory registers, compliance trackers and audit documentation.
• Support workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, performance management and employee engagement for factory staff.
• Drive employee development, apprenticeship programmes and maintain HR systems, data reporting and people analytics.

Required profile

• 4–8 years of HR experience, preferably in FMCG manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Hands‑on experience managing contract labour, vendor partners and compliance in a factory environment.
• Strong practical knowledge of contract‑labour regulations, statutory compliance, licences and audit readiness.
• MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or related discipline is preferred.
