HR Associate – India Workforce Support

About the role

Anaqua is seeking an HR Associate to support its India workforce, acting as the primary HR contact for employees in Gurugram. Reporting to the Sr. HR Regional Director in the U.S., you will manage day‑to‑day HR operations, statutory compliance and HRIS data while collaborating across time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare recurring HR reports and dashboards (headcount, attrition, leave utilization).
• Assist in updating the Employee Handbook and support onboarding/offboarding processes.
• Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and ensure statutory compliance (PF, ESI, Gratuity, POSH, Shops & Establishment Act).
• Respond to employee queries on policies, benefits and procedures.
• Coordinate recruitment activities, including interview scheduling, offer letters and background checks.
• Support employee engagement and culture initiatives for the India team.
• Conduct internal audits of HR processes and partner on regional and global HR projects.
• Provide visa letters for business travel and uphold confidentiality of sensitive information.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of progressive HR generalist or associate experience, preferably in a multinational or technology environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with U.S.-based managers.
• High level of discretion, professionalism and sound judgment.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands and manage time in a remote‑reporting structure.

Required skills

• Experience with HRIS platforms such as BambooHR, ADP or Workday.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting.
• Working knowledge of Indian labor law and statutory compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with AI tools (beneficial).
