Housekeeper – Healthcare Facility

About the role

The Housekeeper ensures a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, staff, and visitors in a healthcare or long‑term‑care facility. This role supports overall health and comfort by maintaining all areas free of obstacles, odors, and debris.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain public areas such as lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
• Sanitize resident rooms and bathrooms on a regular schedule.
• Wipe handrails, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers to remove dust and debris.
• Empty trash cans, replace liners, and manage waste disposal.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain all floor surfaces throughout the facility.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies according to manufacturer instructions.
• Follow safety protocols, post caution signage, and store chemicals securely.
• Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean and organized.
• Report resident safety concerns and supply needs to the appropriate supervisors.
• Provide courteous customer service and work independently or as part of a team.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare or long‑term‑care setting is a plus.
• Ability to follow instructions, safety guidelines, and written procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and basic math abilities.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, bend, lift up to 25 lb, and perform repetitive cleaning motions.
