House Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced House Manager to oversee all aspects of a private ultra‑high‑net‑worth household. The role acts as the central coordinator for staff, vendors and daily operations, ensuring seamless service with the utmost discretion.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day household operations across housekeeping, kitchen, security, drivers, gardening and maintenance.
• Supervise, schedule and evaluate household staff, maintaining high service standards.
• Oversee vendor relationships, contracts and payments for maintenance, repairs, deliveries and events.
• Maintain inventories of pantry items, linens, silverware and equipment.
• Plan and execute logistics for private events, gatherings and formal entertaining.
• Control household budgets, track expenses and report to the principal(s).
• Serve as the primary liaison between the family, staff and external providers.
• Handle emergency situations and proactively resolve operational issues while preserving confidentiality.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as a House Manager, Butler or Butler Supervisor in a hotel or private residence.
• Fluent spoken and written English with immaculate grooming and professional presentation.
• Strong leadership, organisational and vendor‑management abilities.
• Valid driving licence, passport and willingness to travel with the family.
• Verifiable references from previous employers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with household management software or CRM tools.
