Hotel Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Technician will respond to guest repair requests, perform preventive maintenance on hotel equipment, and ensure all facilities are kept in safe, functional condition. This role supports both guest rooms and back‑of‑house areas, following the brand’s Gold Standards for service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical‑room systems, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines; identify and operate shut‑off valves and utility controls.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and document daily activities for shift handover.
• Execute surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and complete clean‑up of work areas.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing, electrical components, HVAC filters, lighting, and guestroom electronics.
• Program televisions, manage housekeeping and engineering inventory, and use lockout/tagout procedures before work.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs, including sprinkler system maintenance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, painting, and surface preparation; hotel engineering experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Air‑conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Electrical wiring, switches, and outlets.
• Plumbing repairs such as unclogging drains and toilet plunging.
• Carpentry and finish work, including painting and drywall repair.
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
• Basic computer skills for air‑handler scheduling and temperature adjustments.
