Hospital Electrician – Electrical Maintenance Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our hospital facilities team. You will be responsible for ensuring reliable electrical power across critical care areas and supporting the overall electrical infrastructure of the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, panels, and distribution systems.
• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems throughout the hospital.
• Monitor and maintain diesel generator sets, UPS systems, transformers, LT/HT panels, and control panels.
• Respond to electrical complaints from OPD, IPD, ICU, OT, wards, laboratories and other departments.
• Guarantee uninterrupted power supply to ICU, OT, Cath Lab, Blood Bank, Emergency and other critical zones.
• Troubleshoot faults promptly to minimise downtime and report equipment performance anomalies.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment servicing and electrical logs.
• Coordinate with Biomedical Engineering and Maintenance teams during medical equipment installation and upkeep.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, hospital policies and statutory regulations.
• Adhere to fire safety, infection control and occupational safety guidelines while working.
• Manage inventory of tools, spare parts and consumables.
• Assist during emergencies and power failures to restore services quickly.

Required profile

• ITI – Electrician certification (mandatory); Diploma in Electrical Engineering is a plus.
• 2–5 years of experience as an electrician, preferably in a hospital, healthcare facility or commercial building.
• Experience handling DG sets, UPS systems, HT/LT panels and electrical maintenance is preferred.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends and on‑call emergency duties.
