Homologation Engineer – Vehicle Type Approval

About the role

The Homologation Engineer will manage type‑approval and conformity of production for vehicles, ensuring compliance with Indian and European regulations. You will act as the liaison between clients, test agencies and Applus IDIADA’s headquarters, coordinating testing activities and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with clients to understand requirements, prepare quotations and manage project cost control using Navision and PAMPOL.
• Coordinate type‑approval and COP processes, preparing documentation and applications for vehicle and component approvals.
• Organise testing schedules, liaise with inspectors and test agencies, witness tests and support clients with maintenance, repairs and sample preparation.
• Manage storage, logistics of test samples and vehicles, and compile test reports after witness tests.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience in type‑approval management or vehicle homologation.
• Strong knowledge of test specifications and regulations such as AIS, ECE, FMVSS and OEM requirements.
• Familiarity with Indian authorities (ARAI, VRDE, CIRT, ICAT) and documentation required for homologation.
• B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Navision for project and cost management.
• Experience using PAMPOL for homologation project coordination.
