Head of Foundry Operations – India

About the role

Lead India’s foundry operations with full accountability for production excellence, operational transformation, and strategic growth. You will drive the transition from traditional bronze casting to advanced stainless‑steel manufacturing, implementing automation and lean practices to position the facility for future success.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all foundry manufacturing activities, including bronze impeller production, ensuring quality, on‑time delivery and cost efficiency.
• Provide strategic direction for the transition to stainless‑steel casting, conducting feasibility studies, process development and qualification.
• Drive automation transformation, working with engineering to design, specify and commission automated core‑making, casting and material‑handling systems.
• Implement lean manufacturing and continuous‑improvement initiatives to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity targets.
• Manage supplier relationships, inventory plans and procurement strategies to maintain 95% safety‑stock availability.

Required profile

• Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering degree with 15‑18 years of progressive foundry or casting experience.
• 5‑7 years in senior leadership roles overseeing engineering, manufacturing and distribution in an industrial environment.
• Proven track record of leading operational transformations, automation implementation and material/process transitions.
• Experience managing multicultural teams, knowledge of Indian labour laws and industrial regulations.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of bronze and stainless‑steel casting processes and metallurgy.
• Automation systems, Industry 4.0 concepts and lean manufacturing / Six Sigma methodologies.
• ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
• Supply‑chain management, procurement strategy and inventory optimisation.
