Head of Continental Business System (CBS) and Projects

About the role

The Head of Continental Business System (CBS) in Kalyani will lead continuous improvement and lean initiatives across the plant while overseeing major projects. This senior position combines strategic planning, project management, and coaching to embed a lean culture throughout the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and drive all CBS (Continuous Improvement/Lean) activities across the plant.
• Translate corporate strategy into actionable plans and ensure execution.
• Identify improvement opportunities and lead projects such as RIEs, problem‑solving, and lean initiatives.
• Manage CBS budget, forecasts, and financial targets.
• Train, coach, and develop employees in CBS principles and lean culture.
• Monitor KPIs, track project performance, and ensure accurate reporting.
• Implement and maintain CBS standards and support continuous process improvement.
• Collaborate with plant leadership and cross‑functional teams on project planning, scope, and deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance, review designs, specifications, and drawings.
• Coordinate with contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams, conducting meetings and communicating progress.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, track costs, and ensure cost‑effectiveness.
• Forecast resource requirements, monitor progress, and maintain project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, and implement quality assurance procedures.

Required profile

• University degree, preferably in business administration, engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in CBS/lean functions.
• Cross‑functional experience in engineering, quality, purchasing or supply chain is preferred.
